twominds Records second venture comes in
the form of Patella’s debut EP; Natural
Pathways. The four-track release prioritises
percussion, while still finding space for lush pads
and organic elements.

Lake Street is a low-slung number featuring
snappy drums and a glitchy underlying texture.
Subtle touches of rhoads piano paired playfully
with organ hits round out the groove. The midway
point of the track sees the addition of a ripping
909 hat, driving the track forward.

Where’s Bongo? pairs well with copious
amounts of sunshine and a cold beer. A true
Summer number, the track is propelled by live
saxophone courtesy of Rachael Travaille, and as
the name would suggest, an array of hand
drums!

Plastic Portal sees Patella team up with harvo
to produce a composition for the time traveler.
The standout element of the track is the
otherworldly pad, which has caught dancefloor
dwellers with their eyes closed and hands up.

The title track of the EP, Natural Pathways is of
slight eastern influence. Lively trumpet stabs and
crashing snares drive this track while perky
percussive elements create an ever-evolving
soundscape.
